20TH ANNIVERSAY LINE OF DUTY DEATH
SERGEANT JEREMY NEWCHURCH

NAPOLEONVILLE – Sunday, March 1, 2026, marks the 20th anniversary of the line of duty death of Sheriff’s Deputy Sergeant Jeremy Newchurch.

Sergeant Newchurch was fatally wounded while participating in a narcotics related investigation south of Napoleonville on March 1, 2006.

We thank Sergeant Newchurch for his service to Assumption Parish and for his contributions to the law-enforcement profession. We thank Sergeant Newchurch for making the ultimate sacrifice.

On Sunday, let’s all take a few moments of our day to show our appreciation to Sergeant Newchurch. Let’s keep Jeremy and his family in our thoughts and prayers on this difficult day.
