PAROLE VIOLATOR – BENJAMIN ROOSEVELT CHERAMIE

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Benjamin Roosevelt Cheramie, 51, of 1053 Tower Tank Road, Morgan City, LA, on charges of Failure to Appear and a parole hold from the Department of Corrections.

On October 27, 2021, Cheramie failed to appear for court in Assumption Parish resulting in an arrest warrant being issued.

Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office learned that Cheramie was being held on unrelated charges at the Morgan City Municipal Jail.

On Wednesday, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Deputies took Benjamin Roosevelt Cheramie into custody in Morgan City. Cheramie was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish
-Resisting an Officer
-No Driver’s License on Person
-Turning Movements and Signals Required
*Parole Hold (Felony) Louisiana Department of Corrections – New Iberia

Benjamin Roosevelt Cheramie remains incarcerated pending bond proceedings.
