TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS, FUGITIVE WARRANT

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Amanda Lynn Smith, 41, of 6160 Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, LA, on multiple charges arising from a traffic stop near Labadieville on Thursday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Amanda Lynn Smith and conducted an officer / violator interview. Upon completion of the interview, the deputy concluded that additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search, deputies located assorted drug paraphernalia and multiple doses of the drug Adderall.
Amanda Lynn Smith was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Adderall Without a Prescription
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of a Minor
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Turning Movement and Signals Required
*Proper Equipment Required
*Fugitive Warrant – Morgan City Municipal Court
Amanda Lynn Smith remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
