ACTIVE SHOOTER DEFENSE TRAINING SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports that on Tuesday, school resource officers participated in active shooter defense training under the direction of the Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Unit.
The group trained in numerous aspects related to active shooters and to deal with this situation if it were to present itself in any of our learning institutions.
“While we hope we never have to experience the same fate as Uvalde, Sandy Hook and all the other tragic events that claimed so may lives of our school aged children and educational staff, we must be ready to deal with any such event,” Sheriff Falcon said.
Sheriff Falcon said this training will continue on a regular basis in the future in order to keep abreast of any new trends related to these types of events.
