ADDITIONAL CANE ROW ARMED ROBBERY ARRESTS

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Jose Luis Gordillo, 18, of 28 Grand Lido, Gulfport, Mississippi, Hector Omar Barahona, 20, of 2332 Lapeyrouse Street, New Orleans, LA, and Brayon Chinchilla Pacheco, 18, of 1149 Tallow Tree Lane, Harvey, LA on armed robbery charges stemming from the heist at Cane Row Casino on September 29, 2022 on LA 70 East. These three arrests brings the total of eight arrest in this case.

A number of armed suspects entered the Cane Row Casino on the aforementioned date and robbed the business of on hand money.

Detectives initiated an investigation which initially focused in the Jefferson Parish area.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested five suspects on October 11, 2022. Those previously arrested are:

– Jonathan Lopez, 19, of 1157 Orange Blossom Lane, Apartment B, Harvey, LA
– Roller Avila, 19, of 35488 Preston Lane, Donaldsonville, LA
– Norman D. Escalate, 189, of 549 Dunbar Place, Terrytown, LA. Escalate is currently in the Jefferson Parish Jail facing related charges there. He will be transferred to Assumption Parish at a later date.
– Juvenile, age 17, from Gretna, LA, charged by verified complaint.

All of the above suspects remain in custody and are charged with Armed Robbery with a Firearm.

– 16-year-old juvenile from Marrero, LA, charged by verified complaint with Accessory after the Fact to Armed Robbery with a Firearm. The court that he be released to a guardian.

Jose Luis Gordillo was arrested on Tuesday by State Police Troup L in St. Tammany Parish. Gordillo was transferred to Assumption Parish on Wednesday and booked into the Detention Center on charges of:

*Armed Robbery with a Firearm

Jose Luis Gordillo remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Hector Omar Barahona was arrested on Thursday after detectives from Assumption Parish along with the U.S. Marshall’s Office and New Orleans Police Department executed a search of his home and arrested him. He is in the process of being transported to Assumption Parish to face charges of:

*Armed Robbery with a Firearm

Brayan Chinchilla Pacheco was arrested on Wednesday by the Olathe, Kansas Police Department. Pacheco faces multiple charges in that jurisdiction and will be extradited to Louisiana once the Kansas charges are satisfied. He faces charges of Armed Robbery with a Firearm.

This investigation is ongoing.
