AGGRAVATED ASSAULT UPON A PEACE OFFICER – 2 COUNTS – FIREARM, BRYANT TUNSON
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Bryant Tunson, 28, of 6057 San Juan Dr., Baton Rouge, LA, on felony assault charges arising from a traffic stop on LA. 308 near Paincourtville on Friday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and conducted a stop of that vehicle. Contact was made with the driver now identified as Bryant Tunson. The deputy requested insurance information which Tunson could not provide resulting in a wrecker being summoned to tow the vehicle.
Bryant Tunson was asked if he had any firearms in the vehicle of which he replied no. The deputies followed Tunson to the vehicle to retrieve his personal items. In doing so, Bryant Tunson retrieved a handgun from the interior of the vehicle. Deputies quickly took control of the firearm and arrested Bryant Tunson. Deputies booked Tunson into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
- Aggravated Assault Upon a Peace Officer with a Firearm – 2 counts
Bryant Tunson remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000.
