AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON
BENZELL QUANSHAUN YOUNG

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Benzell Quanshaun Young, 29, of 14925 Highway 27, Dequincy, LA, on felony aggravated assault charges arising out of a complaint deputies responded to on September 3, 2021.

On the aforementioned date, deputies responded to a complaint of an individual walking on the roadway with a machete making threats directed at other individuals.

Deputies made contact with the suspect, now identified as Benzell Quanshaun Young.

At the completion of the investigation, deputies found probable cause to arrest Benzell Quanshaun Young and took him into custody.

Benzell Quanshaun Young was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (2 Counts)

Benzell Quanshaun Young remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000.
