AGGRAVATED CRUELTY TO ANIMALS – KENNY LACY, SHAVONNE MARIE LACY
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Kenny Lacy, 47 and Shavonne Marie Lacy, 58, both of 186 Highway 401, Napoleonville, LA on felony aggravated cruelty to animal charges after deputies responded to a compliant at the aforementioned address on LA 401 on January 07, 2026.
Deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to a malnourished dog. Upon arrival, deputies located a dog that was hanging off of a porch by a mechanism tied to the dog. The dog appeared to be near death and unable to breathe. The deputy was able to put the dog back on the porch. The deputy noted the dog to be in a severe stage of malnourishment.
The Police Jury’s Animal Control personnel were called and were able to remove the dog from the deplorable conditions.
As a result of the investigation, deputies identified the owners of the dog as Kenny Lacy and Shavonne Marie Lacy.
Deputies obtained arrest warrants for Kenny and Shavonne Lacy.
Kenny and Shavonne Lacy were both arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on January 12, 2026, on charges of:
*Aggravated Cruelty to Animals
Kenny Lacy and Shavonne Marie Lacy remain incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
