AGGRAVATED FLIGHT – NATHANIEL PAUL EALEM

SUPREME – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Nathaniel Paul Ealem, 36, of 17122 Abita Avenue, Prairieville, LA on felony charges arising from a pursuit situation that developed after an apparent hit and run.

Deputies received a complaint from a person who was the victim of the hit and run, who indicated that she was following the suspect vehicle southbound on Highway 1 at a high rate of speed.

A uniformed patrol deputy spotted the suspect vehicle and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The suspect stepped from his vehicle briefly, got back into the car and fled off southbound engaging deputies into a high-speed pursuit.

The suspect vehicle traveled at speeds in excess of 115 miles per hour.

Deputies were able to terminate the pursuit and arrest Nathaniel Paul Ealem. He was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Resisting an Officer
*Disregarded Traffic Controls / Signals

Nathaniel Paul Ealem remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
