AGGRAVATED FLIGHT, ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN THINGS – I.C.E. ARREST – THERRON TRAVIS VERDIN
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Therron Travis Verdin, 20, of 1012 South Sanctuary Avenue, Gonzales, LA, on felony aggravated flight charges arising from an incident on December 27, 2024, east of Plattenville.
On the aforementioned date, deputies were dispatched to multiple locations in and around the Plattenville area in reference to a large number of dirt bikes driving recklessly on the highway and creating undue risks to the motoring public.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail encountered a group of dirt bikes on LA 70 East and attempted to stop the group.
The deputy was able to arrest one driver of the group, but several others fled from the deputy. The deputy was able to identify Therron Travis Verdin as a suspect and subsequently filed arrest warrants charging Verdin. It was further determined that the off-road vehicle Verdin was operating had been reported stolen.
Therron Travis Verdin turned himself into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Thursday, February 27, 2025, and was booked on counts of:
*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Illegal Possession of Stolen Things – State Police Warrant
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Therron Travis Verdin has posted a $75,000 commercial bond.
