ARREST WARRANTS, PURSUIT – DAVID MCKANE HARRIS, III
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of David McKane Harris, III, 30, of 5022 Highway 1, Apartment 3, Napoleonville, LA, on multiple charges arising from an incident near Bertrandville on July 11, 2024.
On the aforementioned date, a deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed an individual known to the deputy as David McKane Harris, III and was aware of outstanding warrants existing for the arrest of Harris. At the time, David McKane Harris, III, was operating an off-road vehicle on the shoulder of LA 1. The deputy activated his emergency lights in an attempt to stop Harris. The suspect vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed in an attempt to evade arrest. The suspect turned onto Southall Street and continued on until he crashed the off-road vehicle, then fled on foot.
Deputies obtained warrants for the arrest of David McKane Harris, III.
On Friday morning, David McKane Harris III turned himself into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and was booked on charges of:
*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Resisting an Officer
*Off-Road Vehicles, Permits for Use on Shoulders of Highways
*Safety Helmet Violation
*Careless Operation
*Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish
*Probation / Parole Violation
David McKane Harris III remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing on the July 11, 2024, charges. Harris was ordered held without bond on the probation / parole warrant.
Bond on the Failure to Appear is set at $1,351.50 cash.
