ASSUMPTION PARISH DEPUTIES ATTEND S.W.A.T. TRAINING

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon is pleased to announce that Lt. Erick Taylor and Sgt. Javon Yarbrough attended S.W.A.T. Training at the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Training Facility held March 24, 2025, thru March 28, 2025.
The training was attended by numerous agencies from throughout Louisiana.
The S.W.A.T. team members undergo rigorous training in advanced tactics, firearms and the use of specialized equipment.
S.W.A.T. Units are used to deal with:
*Close Quarters Combat
*Breaking Doors, Walls, and Buildings
*Firearms Proficiency
*Specialized Equipment
*Crowd Control and Riot Situations
*Counterterrorism
*School Related Incidents
*Violent Suspect Apprehension
The Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. Unit is another layer of security available to law enforcement and is vital to Sheriff’s Falcon’s mission to maintaining public safety.
