TRAFFIC INCIDENT – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
CHAD MARCUS RICARD and JARED PAUL RIVERE
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Chad Marcus Ricard, 40, of 134 Agnes Street, Pierre Part, LA and Jared Paul Rivere, 34, of 103 Randall Street, Pierre Part, LA, on felony charges arising out of a traffic stop near Paincourtville early Saturday.
A uniformed patrol officer assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near LA. 1 and LA 70 and initiated a stop.
The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Chad Marcus Ricard. The violator had a suspended driver’s license and the deputy noted evasiveness on Ricard’s part.
The deputy also noted the passenger now identified as Jared Paul Rivere to be moving about inside of the passenger capsule of the vehicle.
The deputy summoned a K-9 unit to the scene. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.
A search of the vehicle yielded a quantity of heroin and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Both Chad Marcus Ricard and Jared Paul Rivere were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges as follows:
-Chad Marcus Ricard:
*Possession of Heroin
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Driving Under Suspension
*Failure to Yield
*Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
-Jared Paul Rivere was charged with:
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (3rd Offense Felony)
Both Ricard and Rivere remain incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
