CIVILIAN RESPONSE TO ACTIVE SHOOTER EVENTS (C.R.A.S.E.)
HELD AT ASSUMPTION LIBRARY
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon is pleased to announce that the Sheriff’s Office conducted an active shooter training event for civilians at the parish library. The training was held on Friday, August 12, 2022.
The library employees trained in numerous aspects related to active shooters and how to respond should we experience such an event in an educational setting.
The group was trained in the Avoid, Deny, Defend (A.D.D.) method for active shooter events and were shown multiple tools that could be used to secure facilities should an active shooter situation occur.
“While we hope we never have to use this training in real time, we must prepare for any such situation”, Sheriff Falcon said.
Sheriff Falcon thanks the library system for allowing us the use of their facilities and also thanks all who participated in the event.
