CONVICTED FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM – I.C.E. ARREST

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of John A. Henry,46, of 180 Elaine St., Bayou L’Ourse, La., and Chance M. Landry, 36, of 117 Pond Dr., Bayou L’Ourse, La., on felony firearms charges arising from a fugitive warrant investigation in Bayou L’Ourse on Wednesday afternoon.

A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. Detail went to 117 Pond Dr. in an attempt to locate and arrest Chance M. Landry on a fugitive warrant from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. The deputy observed a vehicle Chance M. Landry usually drives parked in the driveway of 117 Pond Drive. The deputy made contact with the homeowner and obtained consent to search a shed on the property.

Deputies made entry and immediately recognized John A. Henry who appeared to be asleep. Deputies had prior knowledge that both John A. Henry and Chance M. Landry to both be convicted felons. Deputies located Chance M. Landry on the premises. Deputies observed a shotgun to be in constructive possession of both John A. Henry and Chance M. Landry, along with ammunition for the shotgun.

As convicted felons, John A. Henry and Chance M Landry cannot legally possess firearms.

John A Henry was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of: *Probation / Parole violation
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

John A. Henry remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing on the firearms charge and was ordered held without bond on the probation / parole detainer.

Chance M. Landry was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of: *Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Fugitive – St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office

Chance M. Landry remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
