NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon cautions residents about answering phone call soliciting your bank account information as it relates to the pandemic.

Calls purporting to be from the Treasury Department, are calling people and advising them that they have been approved for the government stimulus payment, but you must provide your banking account information so it can be deposited into your account.

U.S. Treasury and / or stimulus payments are not disbursed to the public in this manner.

If you receive such a call, please do not provide any personal information to the caller.
