CRUELTY TO JUVENILES, CRIMINAL NEGLECT
DELANEA R. SETTLEMYRE
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Delanea R. Settlemyre, 24, of 54152 Ash Road, Osceola, Indiana, arising from a May 5, 2022, incident near Labadieville, LA.
Uniformed patrol deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 3100 block of LA 1 in connection to a potential protective order violation. While there, deputies noted unsuitable living conditions and several children were present. Upon examination, the children displayed signs of injury and neglect.
Detectives and investigators from the Department of Children and Family Services were notified and did initiate an investigation.
That investigation determined that Delanea R. Settlemyre and a second individual had left the children in deplorable living conditions and subsequently left them there. Additionally, investigators determined that the children had been abused by Delanea R. Settlemyre and one additional suspect, namely, Megan Lee Crawley, 30, of 3178 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA.
Crawley was arrested on June 10, 2022, on charges of Violation of Protective Orders and Cruelty to Juveniles (4 Counts). Crawley is currently incarcerated with bond set at $112,500.
Delanea R. Settlemyre was arrested in Elkhart County Indiana by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
Settlemyre was returned to Assumption Parish and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Thursday on charges of:
*Cruelty to Juveniles with Force or Violence (4 Counts)
*Criminal Neglect of Family (4 Counts)
Delanea R. Settlemyre is being held without bond.
