CRUELTY TO THE INFIRMED

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Althea Williams Morris, 58, of 133 Oakville Street, Belle Rose, LA, on charges accusing her of physically abusing a mentally handicapped relative.

On February 10, 2020, deputies and detectives responded to a complaint from a local mentoring facility for handicapped persons and did interview the victim.

Based on witness and victim interviews, Althea Williams Morris was summoned for interrogation purposes. During that process, Morris acknowledged that she had indeed physically abused the victim.

Based on all factors gathered during the investigative process, Althea Williams Morris was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Cruelty to the Infirmed

Morris was incarcerated awaiting a bond proceeding.
