DISTURBANCE – AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Joseph W. Manuel , 56, of 198 Bayou Tranquille, Pierre Part, LA, on charges arising from a disturbance complaint at the aforementioned address on Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies responded and made contact with the complainant who advised that he was engaged in a confrontation with an individual now identified as Joseph W. Manuel . During the incident, Manuel allegedly placed a knife to the throat of the complainant threatening to stab him and further threatened to shoot him and burn his house down.

Based upon information obtained from a witness as well as the complainant, deputies arrested Joseph W. Manuel and booked him into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
*Simple Battery
*Resisting an Officer (2 Counts)
*Misrepresentation During Booking

Joseph W. Manuel remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
