Dog Fighting Arrests

SUBJECT: DOG FIGHTING ARRESTS – DEANTIONE JAVONTEY TRUEHILL
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Deantione Javontey Truehill, 30, of 137 Alvin Street, Napoleonville, LA, on charges relating to a dog fighting event which occurred on or about April 3, 2019.
Deputies responded to a location near Labadieville and drove upon an ongoing dog fighting event. Upon arrival, several of the parties ran off in different directions.
Shortly after the incident, deputies executed arrest warrants on 3 suspects. Those suspects are identified as:
*Royal Johnson, Sr., 38, of 121 Highway 1014, Labadieville, LA, remains jailed in lieu of $50,000 bond.
*Jalil M. Watkins, 22, of 2929 Highway 1, Labadieville, LA posted a $50,000 commercial bond.
*Wilfred Mitchell, 18, 519 Paula Drive, Thibodaux, LA, posted a $50,000 commercial bond.
Royal Johnson, Jalil M. Watkins and Wilfred Mitchell were booked on counts of:
*Dog Fighting
*Training / Possessing Dogs for Fighting
On April 17, 2019, deputies arrested Calvin T. Johnson, 26, of 3372 Back Marais Lane, Napoleonville, LA. He was booked on counts of:
*Dog Fighting
*Training / Possessing of Dogs for Dog Fighting
Johnson was incarcerated in lieu of $20,000.
On Monday, Deantione Javontey Truehill, 30, was booked on counts of:
*Dog Fighting
*Training / Possessing of Dogs for Fighting
Truehill remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
