DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE -JOSHUA NEHEMIAH RATCLIFF

PAINCOURTVILLE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Joshua Nehemiah Ratcliff, 25, of 139 Champ Lane, Belle Rose, La., on felony charges arising from a domestic incident at a residence in the 200 Block of Daggs Street on Friday.

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a disturbance.

Deputies made contact with the complainant now identified as Joshua Nehemiah Ratcliff who advised that an individual at the residence was threatening him with a gun.

Deputies initiated an investigation and, in the process, obtained video surveillance evidence which provided information identifying Joshua Nehemiah Ratcliff as the aggressor. Ratcliff had been residing at the home with a domestic partner and engaged in domestic abuse. At the time of the abuse, there was a minor child present.

Deputies completed their investigation and arrested Joshua Nehemiah Ratcliff. During a search incidental to arrest, deputies seized synthetic marijuana from the person of Ratcliff. Deputies also seized a large caliber firearm from his personal possessions.

Joshua Nehemiah Ratcliff was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment
*Possession of Synthetic Marijuana (Cannabinoids)
*Simple Assault+

Joshua Nehemiah Ratcliff was released after posting a $25,000 Commercial bond.
