DOMESTIC – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
LARRY GILMORE BLANCHARD, JR.
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Larry Gilmore Blanchard, Jr., 47, of 275 Highway 1012, Napoleonville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a Thursday evening domestic complaint at the aforementioned address.
Deputies were dispatched to the location and had prior notice from the complainant that her estranged husband had left the residence. While deputies were enroute, the suspect vehicle was spotted near Supreme. Deputies conducted a stop of the vehicle and made contact with the driver, now identified as Larry Gilmore Blanchard, Jr. Deputies noted the driver to be displaying behavior consistent with illegal drug activity. As the interview of Blanchard continued, he appeared to become agitated to the point that deputies detained him due to safety considerations.
A K-9 was summoned to the location and conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive to the presence of illegal narcotics. A search was conducted and as a result of that process, a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency were seized.
Larry Gilmore Blanchard, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Improper Display of License Plate
Larry Gilmore Blanchard, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
