DOMESTIC INCIDENT – DEVON TERECK MITCHELL
BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Devon Tereck Mitchell, 26, of 312 Tigerville Lane, Belle Rose, LA, on felony domestic charges arising from an incident at a residence in the 300 block of Tigerville Lane near Belle Rose on Friday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched to the area and made contact with the complainant who indicated that she traveled to the location on Friday afternoon to retrieve her child from the father now identified as Devon Tereck Mitchell. The mother and Mitchell began to argue over issues related to the child. At some point, the complainant left the residence at which time Devon Tereck Mitchell followed her and physically attacked her. A short time later, Mitchell allegedly attacked her a second time and threatened her with a knife. The victim and the suspect were previously in a domestic relationship. At the time of this incident, the victim was pregnant.
Investigating deputies did observe physical injuries to the victim.
Deputies located Devon Tereck Mitchell nearby and arrested him. Deputies did recover a knife.
Devon Tereck Mitchell was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Domestic Abuse Battery Upon a Pregnant Victim with Child Endangerment
*Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault Child Endangerment Law
*Failure to Appear Warrant – Assumption Parish
Devon Tereck Mitchell remains incarcerated with bond set at $100,000.
