DOMESTIC INCIDENT- RAY JOVAN ROBERTSON

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Ray Jovan Robertson, 36, of 509 Owens St., Napoleonville, La., on felony charges arising from a domestic incident on Thursday evening.

Uniformed patrol deputies responded to a domestic related complaint and made contact with the complainant / victim who advised deputies that she was seated in her vehicle with Ray Jovan Robertson. An argument began over a personal matter between the victim and Ray Jovan Robertson. That argument turned physical, resulting in Robertson punching the victim with a closed fist and choking her.

Deputies noted injuries to the victim consistent with the victim’s allegations.

Ray Jovan Robertson was arrested and transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center for booking. Once at the facility, Robertson became unruly and threatening towards deputies and caused damages to public amenities.

Ray Jovan Robertson was booked on charges of:

*Public Intimidation – Threats
*Simple Criminal Damage to Property
*Domestic Abuse Battery Involving Strangulation

Ray Jovan Robertson remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
