DOMESTIC INCIDENT – FALSE IMPRISONMENT
RICO LAMORRIS ASKINS
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Rico Lamorris Askins, 31, of 253 Highway 400, Napoleonville, LA, on felony domestic abuse charges arising from an incident that began on Friday, February 7, 2025, and continued until Sunday, February 09, 2025.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of LA 1012 Sunday morning and made contact with the complainant / victim. Deputies initiated an investigation and determined that the complainant and the suspect now identified as Rico Lamorris Askins were in a domestic relationship and on Friday, Askins became angry and began beating the victim in his car while enroute to their residence in the 100 block of LA 1012. The suspect continued beating her once at the residence and held her against her will for two days. There were three children present during the entirety of the incident. Investigating deputies noted significant injuries to the victim requiring medical attention.
Deputies located Rico Lamorris Askins, and arrested him, but Askins did resist those efforts.
Rico Lamorris was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment
*Domestic Abuse Battery Involving Strangulation
*False Imprisonment
*Two Counts – Resisting an Officer
Rico Lamorris Askins remains incarcerated pending a Bond hearing.
