DRUG / GUN LAW VIOLATIONS, FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM – SHANE M. CEDOTAL
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Shane M. Cedotal, 38, of 816 Highway 398, Labadieville, LA, on felony charges arising from an ongoing investigation.
On or about March 02, 2026, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received a referral for investigation of a domestic incident from the Louisiana Department of Family Services.
Through investigation, detectives learned that the residence was home to an individual now identified as Shane M. Cedotal who is a convicted felon. The investigation further determined that there were multiple firearms inside the home.
On March 03, 2026, detectives secured a search warrant for the residence. Deputies and detectives converged on the residence and executed that search warrant. During that process, detectives seized a total of five (5) firearms, ammunition, firearm accessories, and suspected marijuana. Detectives identified three children under the age of 10 as resident occupants.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Shane M. Cedotal was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Firearms by a Convicted Felon – 5 Counts
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Illegal Use of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons Under 17 Years of Age
*Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance
*Prohibited Acts – Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance
Shane M. Cedotal remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
