DRUG LAW VIOLATION – ADAM LEROY HUNT
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Adam Leroy Hunt, 35, of 129C Highway 401, Napoleonville, LA, on felony charges arising out of an investigative stop in the Paincourtville area on Sunday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle pull off of a main highway and come to a stop in an area where illegal trash dumping has been occurring.
The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Adam Leroy Hunt and engaged in an officer / violator interview. Upon conducting a records inquiry, the deputy learned that the drivers license of Adam Leroy Hunt was under suspension.
Due to erratic physical movements by Mr. Hunt, the deputy conducted a protective pat down search of his person. Upon doing so, the deputy seized a small metal container from Hunt’s pocket and inside the container were two packages containing suspected methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia.
Adam Leroy Hunt was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Resisting an Officer
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
Adam Leroy Hunt remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
