DRUG LAW VIOLATION – SEARCH WARRANT

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Charletta Richard, 30, of 5752 Highway 1, Paincourtville, LA, on multiple felony drug counts following an investigation by Sheriff’s Narcotics Officers.

Over the past several months, narcotics agents have charged Charletta Richard with drug law violations and at the time of this arrest, Richard was out on multiple security bonds after having been arrested twice over a brief span.
At part of an ongoing drug related investigation, agents developed information that Richard was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs.
Agents established probable cause and applied to the district court for a search warrant. On Tuesday evening, the search warrant was executed at Richard’s known address and quantities of heroin and crack cocaine were seized.
Charletta Richard was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons Under the Age of 17

Charletta Richard remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
