DRUG LAW VIOLATION – TRAFFIC STOP
BRAXTON GABRIEL FONTENOT

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Braxton Gabriel Fontenot, 20, of 1620 Parlange, Drive, Morgan City, LA, on felony charges arising from a Sunday evening traffic stop west of Labadieville.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle in the area of LA 1 and LA 398 with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver and determined that his license and accompanying paperwork were in order.

The deputy made contact with the passenger, now identified as Braxton Gabriel Fontenot and conducted an officer / violator interview.

Both the driver and Braxton Gabriel Fontenot consented to a search of the vehicle. As a result of that search, deputies recovered assorted drug paraphernalia and marijuana, all of which was attributed to Braxton Gabriel Fontenot.

As the investigation concluded, Braxton Gabriel Fontenot was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Braxton Gabriel Fontenot remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
