DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
DOMINIC ANATOLE MITCHELL AND JEREMIAH THOMAS SINGLETON
BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Dominic Anatole Mitchell, 19, of 128 Pond Drive, Bayou L’Ourse and Jeremiah Thomas Singleton, 18, of 154 Friendship Alley, Morgan City, LA, on felony drug charges following a traffic stop in Bayou L’Ourse on Tuesday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle on LA 662 commit a traffic violation and conducted a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Dominic Anatole Mitchell and one passenger namely, Jeremiah Thomas Singleton. Prior to the stop, the suspects threw a package which was recovered and found to be Alprazolam.
During the interview process, the suspects exhibited signs consistent with illegal drug activity.
At some point, deputies searched the vehicle in question and seized a firearm which had been reported stolen. Both suspects were arrested.
Dominic Anatole Mitchell was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Improper Lane Usage
*Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Possession of a Stolen Firearm
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Alprazolam
Dominic Anatole Mitchell has a bond set at $40,000.
Jeremiah Thomas Singleton was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Alprazolam with Intent to Distribute
Jeremiah Thomas Singleton has a bond set at $20,000.
