DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kinta Thompson, 38, of 235 Daggs Street, Paincourtville, LA, on felony drug charges related to “Operation Summer Heat”.
As part of a continuing drug investigation, narcotics agents focused efforts on identifying persons affiliated with illegal drug trafficking in Assumption Parish.
As part of the process, agents developed cases and subsequently issued arrest warrants for Kinta Thompson during “Operation Summer Heat”.
Thompson left the area, leading Sheriff Falcon to partner with other Louisiana law enforcement agencies including the State Police Fugitive Task Force to locate Kinta Thompson.
As a result, Thompson was arrested in the Lafayette, Louisiana area.
On Thursday, Thompson was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention on charges of:
*Distribution of Heroin (2 Counts)
*Failure to Appear
– Assumption Parish for Speeding and No Driver’s License-Bond set at $445.
*Failure to Appear
-Possession of Schedule II, Controlled Dangerous Substances
Kinta Thompson was incarcerated on the drug law counts pending a bond hearing.
