DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – OPERATION TAKE A RIDE

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jarret Cortez, 32, of 249A Vivian Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on felony drug distribution charges resulting from “Operation Take a Ride”.

Narcotics agents developed information indicating that Jarret Cortez was involved in trafficking illegal drugs in the Assumption Parish area.

Agents developed probable cause to secure arrest warrants for Jarret Cortez.

On Wednesday, agents arrested Jarret Cortez in Bayou L’Ourse. He was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Distribution of Meth-Amphetamine
*Obstructing Public Passages
*Resisting an Officer
*Disturbing the Peace

Jarret Cortez remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
