DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – OPERATION, “TAKE A RIDE”

KLOTZVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Anthony Junor Benoit, 25, of 2559 Highway 308, Labadieville, La, on felony drug distribution charges related to operation, “Take a Ride”.
As part of a continuing parish wide illegal narcotics investigation, agents identified Anthony Junor Benoit as trafficking in illegal narcotics in the Assumption Parish area.
As a result of this investigation, agents established probable cause to secure arrest warrants on Anthony Benoit.
On November 29, 2020, deputies attempted to arrest Benoit in the Pierre Part area. Benoit abandoned the vehicle he was driving and fled on foot, eluding arrest, resulting in additional charges.
On Friday morning, deputies located and arrested Anthony Junor Benoit at a residence near Klotzville, La. At the time, Benoit was in possession of numerous doses of Adderall illegally.
Anthony Junor Benoit was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Distribution of Marijuana
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Adderall
*Resisting an Officer
*Flight from an Officer
*Speeding
*Turning Movements and Traffic Signals Required (5 Counts)
*Stop Sign Violation (3 Counts)
*Careless Operation
Anthony Junor Benoit remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
