SUBJECT: DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – CODY JAMES LEGNON and JENNIFER L. CROSS
BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Cody James Legnon, 40, of 243 Smithtown Road, Lumberton, Mississippi and Jennifer L. Cross, 39, of 112 Legnon Court, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on drug law violations following the execution of a search warrant at the aforementioned address on Saturday evening.
Deputies and narcotics agents received information indicating illegal drug activity ongoing at 112 Legnon Court.
On Saturday, Sheriff’s office investigators went to the residence in question and spoke to two individuals concerning the ongoing criminal complaint.
At the time, the person eventually identified as Cody James Legnon, provided false identification to deputies. As a result of prior information received and onsite investigation, agents established probable cause to obtain a search warrant and applied for the same. The search warrant was granted.
Deputies executed the search warrant and as a result, seized a quantity of marijuana.
Cody James Legnon was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
- Resisting and Officer by Providing False Information
- Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
Jennifer L. Cross was arrested and booked on charges of:
- Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
Both Legnon and Cross were incarcerated pending bond hearings.
