DRUG VIOLATIONS – PROBATION – PAROLE VIOLATION

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Donovan Paul Mabile, 37, of 13369 Chase Street, Gonzales, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a May 15, 2021 incident.
On the aforementioned date, patrol deputies were dispatched to a Belle Rose retail outlet in reference to a suspicious person complaint. Responding deputies intercepted the suspicious person / vehicle traveling south on LA 1.
The suspect vehicle pulled off into a cane field road and the driver appeared to be fumbling around the trunk area. The deputy approached the driver, now identified as Donovan Paul Mabile. The subject appeared somewhat confused and unsure of himself.
In the interest of officer / violator safety, the deputy conducted a pat down search of Mabile and did locate items generally used for narcotics activity.
Responsive to the suspect’s consent to search his vehicle, deputies located suspected heroin.
Deputies released the suspect pending a crime lab analysis. The report was positive for heroin. A warrant was obtained for Mabile but he evaded deputies until now.
On Wednesday night, the Louisiana State Police Fugitive Task Force along with investigators from the District Attorney’s Office and Assumption Parish Deputies captured Mabile in the Gonzales area.
Donovan Paul Mabile was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail as a fugitive from Assumption Parish. Mabile was then transported and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Heroin
*Violation of Probation / Parole
Donovan Paul Mabile remains incarcerated pending bond proceedings.
