EQUIPMENT VIOLATION – DRUG LAW VIOLATION – KARL J. VAUGHN

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Karl J. Vaughn, 43, of 2312 Highway 398, Morgan City, LA, stemming from a traffic stop in Pierre Part, LA.

Patrol deputies observed a vehicle near the bay bridge in Pierre Part with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputies made contact with the driver, now identified as Karl J. Vaughn and one passenger, Donshea Amos. An open container of alcohol was located in the vehicle and attributed to Donshea Amos for which he was cited.

Karl J. Vaughn gave consent to search the vehicle and during that process methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Karl J. Vaughn was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Headlamps for Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles
*Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)
*Possession or Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia

Karl J. Vaughn remains incarcerated with bond set at $15,000.
