FAILURE TO APPEAR – AGGRAVATED RAPE / INDECENT BEHAVIOR – JUVENILE

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of John Edward Bergeron, 39, of 115 Rice Street, Morgan City, LA, on warrants charging him with Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on Felony Sex Crimes Charges.

John Edward Bergeron was previously arrested in Assumption Parish on March 13, 2022, on charges of Aggravated Rape and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. As a result of that arrest, John Edward Bergeron was ordered to appear in court for motions on May 15, 2023, and failed to do so. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest on May 17, 2023.

The Morgan City Police Department assisted by Assumption Parish detectives arrested John Edward Bergeron on Wednesday. Bergeron was booked into the Morgan City Jail then turned over to Assumption Parish Sheriff’s officials on Thursday.

John Edward Bergeron was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on Charges of Aggravated Rape and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.

John Edward Bergeron was released on the original commercial bond he posted and ordered to appear in court on June 19, 2023.
