FAILURE TO APPEAR – FELONY DRUG CHARGES

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Joey Anthony Choplin, Jr., 42, of 1646 Terrace Highway, Broussard, LA, on a warrant for Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on felony drug possession charges.

Joey Anthony Choplin, Jr. was previously arrested on charges of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. As a result of that arrest, Choplin was ordered and served notice to appear in court on May 16, 2022. Joey Anthony Choplin, Jr. failed to appear in court as ordered. As a result, a warrant was issued for Choplin’s arrest on May 18, 2022.

Joey Anthony Choplin, Jr. was arrested by Morgan City Police on August 15, 2022.

Joey Anthony Choplin, Jr was transferred to the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Thursday and booked on charges of:

*Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on charges for Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance

Joey Anthony Choplin, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
