FAILURE TO APPEAR – MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Michael Jerome Batiste, 36, of 606 Claiborne Street, Donaldsonville, LA, on warrants charging him with Failure to Appear in Court on multiple felony charges.

Michael Jerome Batiste was arrested in Assumption Parish on November 13, 2020 and charged with multiple felonies arising from a traffic stop. As a result of that arrest, Batiste was ordered to appear in court in Assumption Parish on May 31, 2022. Batiste failed to appear as ordered resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

Michael Jerome Batiste was arrested by the Louisiana State Police in East Baton Rouge Parish on December 15, 2022.

Michael Jerome Batiste was returned to Assumption Parish and booked into the detention center on Friday on a warrant for:

*Failure to Appear in Assumption Parish on Charges of:
– Production, Manufacture, Possession, Distribution of a Scheduled I Substance to Wit: Marijuana
– Production, Manufacture, Possession, Distribution of a Schedule I Substance to Wit: Heroin
– Flight from an Officer
– Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
-Aggravated Flight from an Officer

Michael Jerome Batiste remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
