FALSE PERSONATION OF A PEACE OFFICER
BRAD JOSEPH RIVERE
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Brad Joseph Rivere, 41, of 164 Jolimar Street, Napoleonville, LA, on felony charges related to Rivere improperly / illegally identifying himself as a peace officer.
On December 3, 2024, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received a number of calls from Brad J. Rivere regarding a civil issue.
At some point, Rivere went to the Sheriff’s Office Main Annex in Napoleonville. Detectives met with Brad Joseph Rivere at which time he identified himself as a federal law enforcement officer and demanded to see the Sheriff. Rivere repeatedly identified himself as a federal law enforcement officer in an attempt to enhance the result of the civil issue he complained of.
Detectives were familiar with Rivere as they had prior knowledge that he was a convicted sex offender.
Brad Joseph Rivere was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*False Personation of a Peace Officer
*Detainer – Louisiana Department of Corrections – Probation Violator
Rivere remains incarcerated with bond set at $25,000 on the false personation charge. He was ordered held without bond on the probation violation.
Additionally, Brad Joseph Rivere was charged with multiple felony counts arising from an incident inside the detention facility on December 4, 2024.
As corrections officers and deputies attempted to re-locate Brad Joseph Rivere within the correctional facility, he physically attacked the officers. Deputies were able to restrain Rivere.
In connection with that incident, Brad Joseph Rivere was booked on charges of:
*Battery of a Police Officer – 2 Counts
*Disarming of a Peace Officer
*Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence
Brad Joseph Rivere remains incarcerated and awaits a bond hearing in connection with the additional charges.
