FELONY BATTERY CHARGES – ONRE SHANNON BATISTE

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Onre Shannon Batiste, 33, of 303 Pelican Street, Labadieville, LA, on felony charges arising out of an incident on Saturday afternoon near Labadieville.

Deputies responded to a complaint of a disturbance at the aforementioned address. Deputies made contact with several complainants who indicated that Onre Shannon Batiste had created a disturbance and they believed he was armed.

While deputies attempted to interview Batiste, he kicked his domestic partner in the back of the leg. At the time, the female was holding a child.

Onre Shannon Batiste became irate and combative as deputies took him into custody. Batiste was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Battery of a Dating Partner
*Battery of a Police Officer
*Resisting an Officer – 2 Counts

Onre Shannon Batiste remains incarcerated with bond set at $40,000.
