FELONY DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS I.C.E. ARREST

BERTRANDVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Cassandra Marie Pitre, 32, of 125 Derocher Street, Thibodaux, LA, on felony charges arising out of an incident late Friday.
An I.C.E. assigned unit observed a vehicle parked at a local church and decided to investigate. By the time the deputy turned around to go back to the location, the vehicle had left. Moments later, the deputy located the vehicle turning onto a side street from LA 1. The deputy initiated a stop of the vehicle and made contact with the driver. While the deputy was speaking to the driver, a female walked up and attempted to access the subject vehicle. The female had three bags of belongings she was carrying.
The female was identified as Cassandra Marie Pitre. Due to the circumstances, the deputy requested a K-9 unit at the scene. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted positive to the presence of controlled dangerous substances.
The K-9 also alerted upon the bags that Cassandra Marie Pitre was carrying.
During a subsequent search of the bags, a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located.
Cassandra Marie Pitre was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Interfering with the Lawful Duties of a Police Officer
Cassandra Marie Pitre remains incarcerated with bond set at $25,000.
