FELONY FIREARMS CHARGES, FAILURE TO APPEAR
DAVID JOHN HEBERT
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of David John Hebert, 38, of 400 Belle River Road, Pierre Part, LA, on felony charges arising from an incident west of Paincourtville, LA, on October 20, 2022.
On the aforementioned date, an off-duty deputy made contact with David John Hebert in a hunting location east of Lake Verret. The deputy was aware of outstanding warrants on Hebert for Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on felony charges.
David John Hebert is a prior convicted felon. When the deputy made contact with David John Hebert, he was possessing a firearm at the time. Hebert became confrontational and made threats toward law enforcement and the judiciary. Due to the secluded area, the deputy chose not to engage Hebert at the time.
Deputies secured arrest warrants on David John Hebert.
Deputies located Hebert at his home near Belle River on Friday and arrested him.
David John Hebert was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Terrorizing
Bond on the above charges were set at $125,000.
Additionally, David John Hebert was booked on a warrant for:
*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish on August 24, 2022 on charges of – Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substances, Taking Contraband to / from a Penal Institution, Theft Valued over $1000 but less than $5000.
David John Hebert remains incarcerated without bond hearings on the Failure to Appear.
