FELONY WARRANTS – DOUGLAS FERRIS
BELLE RIVER – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Douglas Ferris, 35, of 311 Eagle Point, Pierre Part, LA, on felony charges related to a burglary which occurred on or about April 27, 2021 in Belle River.
On the aforementioned date, deputies and detectives responded to the incident and located a boat believed to have been occupied by Douglas K. Ferris a short time earlier. Deputies seized a firearm from the boat. That firearm had been reported stolen in St. Martin Parish. Douglas K. Ferris is a convicted felon.
Deputies were also able to link Ferris to a pair of burglaries in the Belle River area.
Detectives applied for and were granted arrest warrants on April 27, 2021. Ferris was arrested in Bogalusa, LA. On September 9, 2021. Douglas K. Ferris was transported and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling
*Simple Burglary
*Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Failure to Appear – Theft (Assumption Parish)
*Failure to Appear – Theft (Assumption Parish)
Douglas K. Ferris remains incarcerated with bond set at $150,000.
