TREMONE WELLS
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Tremone Wells, 22, of 1725 Hendee Street, New Orleans, LA, in connection with financial crimes against a local business.
On August 28, 2018, Sheriff’s deputies initiated an investigation involving transactions using counterfeit checks that utilized the banking information from a local business to conduct illegal activity. As a result of the activity, the suspect obtained cash from transactions prior to the financial institution learning that the checks were counterfeit.
Through extensive investigation, detectives were able to identify Tremone Wells as a suspect. Detectives secured arrest warrants for Wells’ arrest in February of 2019.
With the assistance of the New Orleans Police Department, wells was apprehended on January 2, 2020 in New Orleans.
Wells was transferred to Assumption Parish where he was booked on charges of:
*Bank Fraud
*Monetary Instrument Abuse
*Felony Identity Theft
Tremone Wells remains incarcerated with bond set at $15,000.
