FIREARM VIOLATIONS
MICHAEL JOSHUA MARBUT

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Michael Joshua Marbut, 44, of 156 Pine Street, Robeline, LA, on charges related to a shooting incident which occurred on February 22, 2016.

On the aforementioned date, deputies were dispatched to an area business in connection with a possible shooting and interviewed associated witnesses.

The investigation revealed that Michael Joshua Marbut had gotten into an altercation with a friend. At some point, Marbut allegedly threw the gun down. The firearm discharged, striking Marbut in the hand, abdomen and leg area.

Marbut was flown via Air-Med to a Baton Rouge Hospital for treatment.

Deputies obtained arrest warrants for Michael Joshua Marbut and entered them into the database.

Marbut was recently captured in Nachitoches, Louisiana. He was transferred to Assumption Parish and booked on charges of:

*Illegal Discharge of Firearms in a Residential Area

Marbut remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
