FOURTH OF JULY – 250 YEARS OF AMERICA’S INDEPENDENCE
FOURTH OF JULY – 250 YEARS OF AMERICA’S INDEPENDENCE
SHERIFF LELAND FALCON
NAPOLEONVILLE – On this coming Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Nation will celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, creating the birth of a new Nation we all know as the United States of America. The dream of a new Nation came at tremendous costs.
On this day 250 years ago, patriots from Thirteen Colonies declared their Independence creating America. From those who served as militias during our American Revolution to present day men and women protecting our Nation around the world, the sacrifices of our Military have been extraordinary.
On Saturday, let us pay tribute to our service members, some of whom have made the ultimate sacrifice. Let’s also recognize the contributions and sacrifices of our military families. It is because of all of them that we can celebrate from all corners of our Nation, the freedom we enjoy today.
Please take a moment out of our joyful Fourth of July celebrations to remember the past and present members of our Armed Forces.
From all of us at the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office to all of you, have a safe and joyful Fourth of July.
Sheriff Leland Falcon
