FUGITIVE ARREST – LANCE ALONZO WALKER

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Lance Alonzo Walker, 32, of 134 Lydia Street, Gray, LA, on felony fugitive warrants following a traffic stop near LA 1 and LA 70 late Thursday night.

A detective unit observed a motor vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Lance Alonzo Walker. The deputy engaged the violator into a deputy / violator interview and immediately determined that Lance Alonzo Walker was wanted in Lafourche Parish on multiple warrants.

The deputy noted activity consistent with illegal drug law violations. Consent was requested by the on-scene officer which was granted.

During a sweep of the areas surrounding the vehicle’s point of stop, deputies located a quantity of suspected crack cocaine.

Lance Alonzo Walker was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Driver Must be Licensed
*Owner to Secure Registration
*Insurance Compulsory Violations
*Possession of Cocaine
*Fugitive Warrants

Lance Alonzo Walker remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Upon satisfying local charges, Walker will be released to Lafourche Parish.
