FUGITIVE WARRANTS – PROBATION / PAROLE VIOLATOR

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Davonta Clifton Herbert, 27, of 119 Greenbriar Street, Paincourtville, LA on felony warrants after his capture near his home on Sunday.

Deputies went to the aforementioned address to execute arrest warrants on Davonta Clifton Herbert on Sunday afternoon. As deputies approached, Herbert attempted to flee but was captured following a brief foot pursuit.

Davonta Clifton Herbert was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Facility on charges of:

*Resisting an Officer (2 Counts)
*Failure to Appear (2 Counts-Improper Telephone Communications)
*Warrant (Battery of a Dating Partner)
*Possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense)
*Violation of Probation / Parole (2 Counts)

Davonta Clifton Herbert was on probation in Assumption Parish after his conviction for Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. Herbert violated the conditions of his probation resulting in a warrant being issued.

Herbert is also wanted on fugitive warrants in Ascension and St. James Parishes.

Herbert is currently incarcerated in Assumption Parish without bond.
