GUN LAW VIOLATIONS – RESMOND SMITH, JR.

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Resmond Smith, Jr., 19, of 315 Pelican Street, Labadieville, LA, on gun law violations following a Monday night incident in Labadieville.

Deputies were dispatched to the Sparrow Street area related to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies noted a large gathering in the street. Upon interviewing witnesses, deputies were able to identify Resmond Smith, Jr., as the person who fired several shots during a disturbance. Smith allegedly then left the scene. Hours later, Smith was located and questioned. At some point, Smith was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
*Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities

Resmond Smith, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond proceeding.
